Public Speaking and Assemblies
School wide talks that turn mental health from a taboo topic into an open, hopeful conversation, led by students who have lived the high school experience.
Who it is for
Whole grade levels, full school assemblies, club meetings, and parent or educator nights. If you want to set a tone of openness and care across your community, this is a strong place to start.
What a session looks like
Our speakers share a clear, engaging message, part story and part practical takeaway, that meets students at their level. We keep it honest and hopeful, follow safe messaging guidelines closely, and always end by naming where people can find help.
What we cover
Topics we cover
Each talk is shaped around your audience and the message your school wants to send. Themes we speak to include:
- What mental health really means, and why everyone has it
- Breaking the stigma around asking for help
- Real, peer to peer stories of struggle and resilience, shared responsibly
- Spotting when a friend is struggling and how to show up for them
- A hopeful look at suicide prevention and connecting people to help
- Concrete next steps and resources, including the 988 line
Format and length
- A 20 to 40 minute talk, with optional questions and answers
- Single speaker or a small student panel
- Fits an assembly block, advisory period, or evening event
- Adaptable for an auditorium, gym, or classroom setting
Why it works
A message about mental health lands differently when it comes from a peer. Students see someone their own age being open, and it gives them permission to be open too.
Our talks are shaped with guidance from professionals on our advisory team, so every story is shared safely and every takeaway points toward real, reliable support.
“You could feel the room shift. Students were leaning in, and afterward more of them knew exactly who to talk to.”
