The Keystone Mental Wellness Project ("KMWP," "we," "us," or "our") is a student led mental wellness organization based in Lancaster, PA. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through our website at keystonementalwellnessproject.com, why we collect it, how long we keep it, who can see it, and the choices you have. If anything is unclear, email us at info@keystonementalwellnessproject.com.
Who we are
KMWP is a student led project that provides peer informed mental health education, presentations, workshops, and resource navigation to high school students and their communities. We are based in Lancaster, PA, in the United States, and the information we collect is processed in the United States. We are the party responsible for the information described in this policy.
Information we collect
We do not require you to create an account, and we do not ask for more than we need. We collect information in two ways:
- Information you give us through a form. When you fill out one of our forms, for example to contact us, bring KMWP to your school, volunteer, or ask about donating, we collect what you enter: your name, your email address, your school or organization when relevant, and the message you send. Some forms ask for a phone number or a few other details only if you choose to provide them. Please do not include sensitive personal, medical, or crisis details in a form. These inboxes are not monitored around the clock.
- Privacy friendly analytics. We use cookieless, aggregate analytics to understand how many people visit our pages and which pages are useful. This is traffic level information, such as page views and general location at the country or region level. It is not tied to your name, and we do not use it to build a profile of you or to follow you across other websites. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
What we do not track
Some parts of this site are intentionally kept private, even from us. We do not individually track which crisis links you click. If you tap a number for the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, the Crisis Text Line, the Trevor Project, or any other crisis resource, that action is not logged or associated with you.
How we use information
- To reply to your message and follow up on your request.
- To coordinate programs, such as scheduling a school presentation, workshop, or volunteer role.
- To keep the site secure and working, including preventing spam and abuse on our forms.
- To understand, in aggregate, what is helpful so we can improve the site.
We do not sell your information, we do not rent it, and we do not share it for advertising. We use it only for the purposes above.
Service providers
We are a small project, and we rely on a few trusted companies ("processors") to operate the website and handle messages. They process information on our behalf, only as needed to provide their service, and under their own privacy commitments. We currently use:
- Vercel hosts and serves this website and provides the cookieless, privacy friendly analytics described above.
- Resend delivers the email that a form generates so it reaches our inbox.
As we grow, we may add reputable providers for specific features, for example an email newsletter service if you choose to subscribe, or a payment processor if and when we accept online donations. If we do, we will use established providers and update this policy. If you would like specifics about how a particular provider handles data, just ask and we will point you to their policy.
How we share information
Within KMWP, your form messages are seen only by the small number of team members who handle that type of request. The processors listed above can access information only to perform their service for us. Beyond that, we share information only when we believe in good faith that it is necessary to comply with a law, regulation, legal process, or enforceable governmental request, to enforce our Terms of Use, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of any person. Otherwise, we keep it to ourselves.
How long we keep it
We keep what you send us only as long as we reasonably need it for the purpose you contacted us about, and then we delete it. As a general guide, we aim to remove form messages within 24 months, unless there is an ongoing reason to keep them, such as an active program you are part of, or unless the law requires otherwise. Aggregate analytics, which are not tied to you, may be kept longer.
Children and minors
KMWP serves high school students and their communities. Our interactive features, such as our forms, are intended for people who are high school age, generally 14 and older.
- In keeping with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has sent us information, please email info@keystonementalwellnessproject.com and we will delete it promptly.
- For volunteers under 18, we ask for verifiable parental or guardian consent before we collect and use that volunteer's information, and our volunteer form is built to request it.
- A parent or guardian may ask us what information we hold about their minor and request that we correct or delete it. See "Your privacy choices" below.
Your privacy choices
You can ask us to show you what information we have about you, correct it, or delete it. To make a request, email us at info@keystonementalwellnessproject.com from the address you used, or, for a minor, as their parent or guardian. We will respond as promptly as we reasonably can. If you ever sign up for email updates, you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any update we send.
Data security
We take reasonable administrative and technical steps to protect the information you share with us. However, no website or method of transmission over the internet is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please avoid sending sensitive details through a web form.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "last updated" date above. For significant changes, we will make a reasonable effort to make the update easy to notice. Your continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
