Accessibility Statement
Our approach to making this website usable for as many people as possible, including those who use assistive technology, and how to report a problem.
Last updated: June 25, 2026
Our commitment
The Keystone Mental Wellness Project wants this website to work well for everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification, captions, or other assistive technology. We design and build with accessibility in mind, and we treat it as ongoing work rather than a one time checkbox.
The standard we aim for
We are working to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. These are widely recognized international guidelines for making web content more accessible. In practice, this means we aim to:
- Use clear, logical heading structure and page order.
- Provide meaningful text alternatives for images that carry information.
- Keep color contrast strong enough to read comfortably, and never rely on color alone to convey meaning.
- Make every feature reachable and usable with a keyboard, with a visible focus indicator.
- Respect the reduced motion setting for people who prefer less animation.
- Write descriptive links and labels so it is clear where each one goes.
- Support text resizing and reflow without breaking the layout.
How we maintain accessibility
Accessibility is part of how we build, not an afterthought. We check our pages with keyboard only navigation, test color contrast, use semantic structure, and review new content as we add it. We review this statement periodically and update it as the site changes. This statement reflects the accessibility of the site as of the date above.
Known limitations
We are a small, student led project, and we are honest about where we still have work to do. As of the date above, we are aware of these areas and are working to improve them:
- Some content and components are still being reviewed and tested against the full WCAG 2.2 AA checklist.
- A few outside tools we may rely on, such as an embedded form or a donation provider, are not fully under our control, and their accessibility may vary.
- We have not yet completed a formal independent accessibility audit.
If you run into a barrier that is not listed here, please tell us. Your feedback helps us prioritize fixes.
How to report a problem
If you have trouble using any part of this site, or you need information in a different format, we want to know. Email us at info@keystonementalwellnessproject.com and, if you can, please include:
- The page or feature where you ran into the problem.
- What you were trying to do.
- The device, browser, or assistive technology you were using, if you know it.
We will do our best to respond promptly and to help you get what you need in the meantime.
A note on getting help
If you are looking for support right now, our Get Help page lists crisis resources, including the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. Those services are available by phone and text, so help is reachable even if part of our site is not working for you.
