Mental Health Education

Honest, age appropriate lessons that help students understand their own mental health and feel ready to support the people around them.

Peer informedProfessionally reviewed

Who it is for

High school students, plus the educators and administrators who want mental health education that students will actually listen to. Lessons can be delivered to a single class, a grade level, or a health or advisory period.

What a session looks like

A KMWP student facilitator leads a relaxed, conversation first lesson, never a lecture. We open with a relatable hook, share clear and accurate information, make space for questions, and always close by naming exactly where someone can turn for support.

What we cover

Topics we cover

We tailor the mix to your students grade level and your school goals. Common topics include:

  • Mental health awareness, what it is, why it matters, and how to talk about it
  • Understanding depression: signs, myths, and how to support a friend
  • Understanding anxiety and stress, and everyday tools that help
  • Suicide prevention rooted in safe, hopeful messaging, how to notice, ask, and connect someone to help
  • How and where to find professional support, including the 988 line
  • Reducing stigma and building a culture of checking in

Format and length

  • A single 30 to 45 minute class period, or a series across several weeks
  • Delivered in person and flexible to your bell schedule
  • Scaled for one classroom or several sections in a day
  • Slides, discussion prompts, and take home resources provided

Why it works

Students open up to peers. Because our facilitators are high schoolers too, the room feels safe instead of clinical, and that honesty is where real learning starts.

At the same time, every lesson is reviewed by our advisory team of psychologists, physicians, and educators, so the information is accurate and the messaging stays safe and supportive.

“Students stayed after class to keep talking, and a few said it was the first time mental health did not feel awkward to bring up.”
